One of our latest projects takes us to Forest View Homes, where we are currently working on a modern kitchen and luxurious bathroom (CR) renovation for our client, Ezekiel Poso. In this blog post, we will take you through the Preliminary Design Stage of this exciting project, share the inspiration behind the design choices, and provide insights into how we plan to transform these essential spaces into sleek, functional, and luxurious environments.

The Client’s Vision:

Ezekiel came to us with a clear goal—he wanted to completely revamp both his kitchen and bathroom to reflect a modern aesthetic while maintaining the functionality and comfort required for everyday living. His kitchen, originally a more traditional setup, needed an upgrade to maximize both space and style. For the bathroom, Ezekiel envisioned a luxurious, spa-like retreat, incorporating high-end materials and fixtures to create an inviting and comfortable atmosphere.

Preliminary Design Concept:

Our team has worked closely with Ezekiel to design a space that balances both modern aesthetics and practical features. Here’s a breakdown of our design concepts for the kitchen and CR:

Modern Kitchen Design:

• Cabinetry: We are replacing the old cabinets with sleek, custom-made units that maximize storage while maintaining a minimalist look. These cabinets will have handleless fronts for a clean, uninterrupted surface.
• Countertops: After careful consideration, we’ve opted for granite countertops to add durability and a luxurious touch. The neutral tones of the granite will complement the overall minimalist design.
• Lighting: Modern, high-efficiency LED lighting will be installed, focusing on both task lighting (under-cabinet) and ambient lighting to enhance the space’s usability and atmosphere.
• Appliances: We’re integrating built-in appliances to keep the kitchen looking seamless and modern while improving functionality.

Luxurious CR (Bathroom) Design:

• Tiling: We’ve selected premium, waterproof tiles for both the walls and floors. These tiles not only offer a clean, modern look but are also resistant to moisture, ensuring longevity and ease of maintenance.
• Shower Area: The new spa-inspired shower will feature a frameless glass enclosure with a rain showerhead, providing both style and relaxation.
• Fixtures: High-end fixtures such as a sleek, modern water closet, a minimalist basin, and luxury taps will be installed to create a cohesive, luxurious look.
• Lighting: Soft, ambient lighting will be introduced, combined with task lighting around the vanity area to make daily routines easier and more enjoyable.

Scope of Work:

The project is currently in the Preliminary Design Stage, but we’ve already outlined the major tasks that will be undertaken:

1. Demolition:
   • Removal of old kitchen components (cabinets, countertops) and bathroom fixtures (shower, toilet, sink) to make way for new installations.
2. Re-tiling and Waterproofing:
   • The kitchen and CR will be re-tiled using premium waterproof tiles to ensure durability and style.
   • Special attention will be given to the CR to ensure proper waterproofing and prevent any future moisture damage.
3. Electrical Work:
   • Complete rewiring to support the new appliances in the kitchen and lighting fixtures in both the kitchen and CR.
   • Installation of dedicated circuits for high-wattage appliances (oven, refrigerator, etc.) in the kitchen.
4. Installation:
   • Once the demolition is complete and the foundational work is done, we will move on to installing the new cabinetry, countertops, and fixtures in both spaces.
   • The installation process will be meticulously handled to ensure that all components fit perfectly, maintaining the sleek and modern design.

While the design process has been smooth, we did encounter a few challenges along the way.
